After my Father tried killing me on my 13th birthday I found a Heavenly Father to whom I have given my whole life to serve. Now as I look back more than 60 years have passed. Many of those years I ministered and counseled trying to heal hurting hearts and mending broken dreams. I’ve lost track of the numbers who responded but know it was in the thousands. A few years ago, my health degenerated to the point I could not continue. I found myself housebound without a way to continue my former work for my Lord. I prayed that the Lord would direct my path to find some new way to still share His gracious love, forgiveness and grace. Nothing happened. I continued praying because His eternal word says, “Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.” (Is 40:31, NASB)
I continued praying for His direction. Please Father help me find a way to still share You with others. More time elapsed. Until – He laid an answer in my soul. Why don’t you do what I told Israel to do? Presto! Then a story I had often read penetrated my dull gray matter. Build a monument. A stone monument. “And Joshua said to them, “Pass on before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take up each of you a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the people of Israel, that this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’ then you shall tell them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. So, these stones shall be to the people of Israel a memorial forever.” (Joshua 4:5-7, NIV)
So, just as the Israelites were told to build a stone monument for future generations, I felt called to do likewise but in a much smaller scale. The Lord spoke to my heart saying, “You’ve seen Me work wondrous miracles for hundreds of people over 60 years. Build a storybook monument. Give Me the credit so that future generations can see what you saw and experienced.” So that is why I’ve written this book.
I felt unworthy to call my work a stone monument. So, I refer to each story as a tiny piece of stone ~ a Pebble. As I began writing these true stories of God’s wondrousness I happened upon Psalms 105: “Go ahead and give God thanks for all the glorious things he has done! Go ahead and worship him! Tell everyone about his wonders! Let’s sing his praises! Sing, and put all of his miracles to music!” (Psalms 105:1-2, TPT)
Never do I recall reading a book of true stories about God that included songs of praise. But the Holy Spirit led me onward. This gave me an exciting challenge. I spent hours praying over my stories and seeking a song of praise to complement the message each “Pebble” conveyed. As you read these stories please also click on the link to the praise song. Each song has been selected to fit like a glove the message of the story. The mini concert will cement the story to your soul. A third portion of writing this monument of praise pebbles was to use images and or videos to embed the story more deeply. So what you are opening now is a Book full of true stories, with praise songs and occasional pictures all of which are designed to honor our Faithful Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Truly this is a God Applause book.
